Around one in thirteen Australian adults, close to 7.5 percent, lives with an affective disorder such as depression in any given year, so if this is your experience you are far from alone. In Western Australia the picture is heavier still, with the ABS finding that 23.1 percent of WA adults aged 16 to 85 experienced a mental disorder in the previous twelve months.

Five-star Google reviews
One conversation in, most clients say they’ve finally been understood.
“I truly felt heard for the first time in all my life and deeply understood.”
“When I came to Christina I was drowning in darkness… now I’m finally thriving again.”
“Due to her mediumship I was able to see core issues that I wasn’t able to recognise before.”
In a city as far-flung as Perth, where distance and long rosters can stretch people thin, that quiet flatness can build for a long time before anyone thinks to ask for support.
How Christina works
There is no forced positivity here and no pressure to snap out of it. Christina listens for what your mind and body have been carrying, often for far longer than you realised, and helps you make sense of it at a pace that feels safe. Even in the flattest seasons, room is kept open for hope to return in its own time.
Rather than treating depression as a fault to be fixed, Christina helps you explore what it may be protecting you from and what your system has been trying to manage.
Sessions move slowly enough that you never have to perform or arrive with everything figured out. Some days simply being heard is the work.
Alongside the deeper reflection, you build practical, doable footholds so that daily life in Perth gradually feels a little lighter and more your own.

This page is deliberately short. If you would like more context before booking, there is a longer, gentle article that unpacks how depression settles in, why it lingers and what genuine support can look like. It may help you feel clearer about your next step.

What we can work through
People come to Christina carrying many different versions of the same heaviness, and these themes come up often.
The kind of depletion that builds from years of pushing through, common for shift workers and those juggling demanding rosters far from home.
Feeling switched off from the people and moments that used to matter, as though you are watching your own life from behind glass.
Sadness that has not fully lifted after a loss, a relationship ending, or a chapter of life closing.
An inner voice that keeps insisting you are not doing enough, which slowly wears down your sense of worth.

About Christina
Christina Feyes founded Soul Counselling in 2016 and brings more than a decade of experience to her work. She is a counsellor with training across psychology, social work and human services, and she supports clients right across Australia, including many people throughout Perth and regional Western Australia who value being able to talk from their own home.
Her way of working weaves together grounded clinical understanding, warm and practical counselling, and a quieter intuitive sense of what is really going on beneath the surface. That means sessions can hold both the everyday, workable steps and the deeper emotional layers that depression often keeps hidden.
Common questions
If your question is not here, the free 15-minute assessment is the easiest way to ask it.
Money should never be the reason you stay stuck, so the first step costs you nothing. Christina offers a free 15-minute assessment where you can share a little about what is going on, ask any questions and get a feel for how she works, with no card details and no obligation to continue. It is a low-pressure way to find out whether working together feels right for you, with nothing to lose by simply having the conversation.
No. You do not need a referral, a doctor’s letter or any kind of formal diagnosis to reach out. Many people contact Christina simply because something has felt off for a while and they want to understand it. You are welcome to book the free 15-minute chat directly, whether you have never spoken to anyone before or you have tried support in the past and are looking for a different, gentler approach.
There is no physical clinic in Perth. Christina’s only in-person base is in Southport on the Gold Coast, and all Perth and Western Australian sessions are held online by video or phone. For most people this turns out to be a real advantage, because there is nowhere to drive to, no waiting room and no travel across the city. You simply connect from home, from work or wherever you feel most comfortable.
That is completely okay, and it is one of the most common things people say. You do not need a tidy explanation or a clear list of problems before you begin. Often the not knowing is part of what depression does, blurring things until everything feels vague and heavy. Christina will gently help you find the words, following your pace, so you can start to make sense of what has been going on without any pressure to have it worked out first.
There is no set number, because everyone’s situation is different. Some people come for a short season to work through a specific low patch, while others value ongoing support over a longer period. Christina will never push you to keep booking, and you stay in control of the pace and the frequency throughout. You can start with the free 15-minute assessment and decide, without any commitment, what feels manageable for you from there.
You do not have to arrive with energy or the right words. Some of the most useful sessions happen on the days when talking feels almost impossible, and simply being met with warmth and without judgement is enough. Christina is used to sitting with quiet, heavy sessions and will never rush you to fill the silence. You can turn up exactly as you are, and the two of you begin from there.
Yes. For many people online counselling feels every bit as connecting as being in the same room, and often more sustainable. It is especially suited to FIFO and shift workers, whose swings, travel and long hours make regular in-person appointments hard to keep. Because sessions run by video or phone and can be scheduled around your roster, you can access steady support whether you are home in Perth, out on site or somewhere in regional WA.
Please reach out for immediate help. Counselling with Christina is not a crisis or emergency service, so if you are in danger or thinking about ending your life, call 000 now, or phone Lifeline on 13 11 14 at any hour for free, confidential support. Once you are safe and steady, Christina is here for the ongoing work of understanding and easing depression over time, and she is glad to walk alongside you when the moment is right.
If any of this feels familiar, you are warmly invited to book a free 15-minute assessment, with no card and no obligation, simply to see whether working together feels right.

Perth is often called the most isolated capital on earth, and that distance is not only geographic. Long stretches between regional WA towns, fly-in fly-out and resources-sector rosters, and time away from family can leave people feeling quietly cut off long before low mood is ever named. Being able to talk to a steady, familiar voice from wherever you are can make a genuine difference.
Sessions are held online and by phone across Perth and all of Australia. You can also explore all Perth counselling services.
Counselling that fits around your roster
One of the hardest parts of asking for help in WA is simply fitting it in around work, travel and long swings away. Because everything is online, there is no clinic to drive to and no waiting room. You can meet from home in Perth, from a room on site, or from a quiet spot in regional WA, whatever suits the week you are in.
Christina is a qualified counsellor, and every session takes place by video or phone at a gentle pace that respects how you are feeling that day. You do not need to arrive full of energy or have the words ready to explain everything. You can simply turn up as you are, and the conversation starts from there.
