Gold Coast Counselling Services

Wherever you are on the Gold Coast, there is space here to talk through anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship strain, spiritual growth and the big transitions that reshape a life. Soul Counselling offers grounded, compassionate support that is shaped around you rather than a formula.

You work directly with Christina Feyes, a Gold Coast based counsellor with a base in Southport, meeting online or by phone with clinical care and room for deeper intuitive healing.

From Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, Robina, Nerang, Coomera and up into the Hinterland, sessions come to you with real privacy, so there is no waiting room and no drive across town when you already feel stretched.

What is counselling on the Gold Coast?

Counselling on the Gold Coast is confidential, one to one support for what you are carrying, whether that is anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, a relationship that keeps hitting the same wall, or a season of change you cannot quite name. Christina Feyes is a Gold Coast based counsellor with a background in psychology, social work and human services, and she works online and by phone with people right across the Coast and around Australia.

That means no waiting room, no drive to Southport in traffic, and no sitting in a car park afterwards trying to look composed. You talk from wherever you feel safest. Counselling is not crisis care, so if you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000. For everything else, the simplest first step is a free 15-minute assessment where you can explain what is going on and decide whether the fit feels right.

In the ABS 2020 to 2022 study, close to one in four Queenslanders, around 23.7 percent, lived with a mental disorder in the previous year, so reaching out here is far more common than it can feel.

From Realizing Death

Counselling wherever you are on the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is spread out, and the drive is often the reason people put off getting support for another month. Sessions here are held online and by phone, so the distance stops mattering.

Southport and the central coast

Christina is based in Southport, and works with people across Labrador, Ashmore, Benowa and Main Beach. If you are searching locally, there is a dedicated page for counselling in Southport.

Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach

Shift work, hospitality hours and a body clock that never quite settles. Evening and flexible times suit this part of the coast more than a nine to five appointment ever will.

Burleigh, Palm Beach and the south

Far enough south that a trip north in traffic is its own deterrent. Phone and video sessions remove that trip entirely.

Robina, Varsity and Nerang

Family and work heavy suburbs where the practical problem is usually finding an hour that is genuinely private, not finding the motivation.

Coomera, Pimpama and the north

A fast growing corridor where local services have not caught up with the population. Online sessions mean the waitlist in your postcode is not your ceiling.

The Hinterland

Nerang, Mudgeeraba, Tallai and further out toward Canungra, where the nearest room can be a long way away and privacy in a small community matters.

What starting actually looks like

There is no long intake process and no commitment before you have spoken to anyone.

A free 15-minute assessment

You explain what is happening in your own words. Christina listens and is honest about whether this is the right kind of support for it. No card, no obligation, and no follow up chasing you if it is not a fit.

Your first full session

Usually a longer conversation than you expect. Nothing is forced, and you set the pace on what you talk about. Most people leave having said something out loud for the first time.

The ongoing work

Some people come for a handful of sessions to get through a specific thing. Others stay longer for deeper healing. Both are normal, and you decide as you go rather than committing up front.

Questions people ask before booking

Do you have an office on the Gold Coast?

Christina is Gold Coast based, with a base in Southport, but sessions are held online and by phone rather than in a consulting room. For most people that turns out to be the practical advantage: no travel, no waiting room, and no chance of running into someone you know on the way in.

Which suburbs do you cover?

All of them, and beyond. Because sessions are online or by phone, Southport, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, Palm Beach, Robina, Varsity Lakes, Nerang, Coomera, Pimpama, Mudgeeraba and the Hinterland are all equally reachable, along with the rest of Australia.

How soon can I start?

Usually far sooner than the psychology waitlists people have often already tried. Counsellors sit outside the Medicare system, which is part of why availability tends to be better. The free 15-minute assessment is normally the quickest way to find out what is open.

Is online counselling as good as sitting in the room?

For most of the work, yes, and some people open up faster from their own lounge room than they would in an unfamiliar office. It suits you less well if you have no private space at all, or if your internet and phone are both unreliable. Christina will say so if she thinks in-person is what you actually need.

Can I claim a Medicare or private health rebate?

No. Christina is a counsellor, not a registered psychologist, so her sessions do not attract a Medicare rebate and are not claimable on private health. If a rebate is essential for you, the honest path is a GP mental health treatment plan and a registered psychologist, and she will happily point you that way.

What if I am not sure counselling is the right thing?

That is a perfectly reasonable place to start from, and it is exactly what the free assessment is for. Plenty of people use those fifteen minutes to work out that they need something else entirely, and leave with a clearer idea of where to look.

Not sure which service fits

Begin with the free 15-minute assessment, where you can explain what is happening in your own words, ask any questions and get a feel for the work. From there you can decide, without pressure, whether Christina is the right person to walk alongside you.

Online and phone sessions are available across Australia.
