Counselling in Southport, Gold Coast
Counselling in Southport, in person or online, and genuinely in your corner.
Whether you are near the Broadwater, working in the Southport CBD, or studying nearby, you can meet a warm, experienced counsellor in person when a suitable local venue is free, or talk online or by phone from wherever you are. I am Christina Feyes, a counsellor with training in psychology, social work and intuitive healing, and I work with people across Southport and the Gold Coast.
Book a free 15-minute assessmentCan I see a counsellor in Southport?
Yes. Christina Feyes is a Gold Coast based counsellor, and she works with people across Southport, Labrador, Ashmore, Benowa, Main Beach and the wider central coast. Meeting in person is a real option if you live or work close by, booked by appointment and subject to venue and availability, as there is no fixed consulting room to walk into. Online and phone sessions stand as an equal choice, here or anywhere in Australia, and for many people they remove the two real barriers: the drive through Southport traffic, and the chance of being seen walking in by somebody who recognises you.
She supports anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship strain, separation and divorce, and the periods of change that do not have a tidy name. The simplest starting point is a free 15-minute assessment, with no card and no obligation.
Five-star Google reviewsPeople keep saying the same thing.
One conversation in, most clients say they have finally been understood.
“I truly felt heard for the first time in all my life and deeply understood.”
“…for the first time in a LONG time im finally thriving again.”
“Christine has helped me deal with stress and anxiety.”
If you are in Southport, you might be
- Holding it together at work in the CBD while quietly running on empty.
- Lying awake near the Broadwater with a mind that will not switch off.
- Carrying a loss that the people around you seem to think you should be over by now.
- Stuck in the same argument with your partner, again, and tired of the cycle.
- New to the Gold Coast, a little isolated, and not sure who to talk to.
- Wanting support but put off by the idea of a waiting room and a carpark in town.
How I work
Clinically grounded, humanly warm, and where it helps, intuitively informed. You set the pace.
Clinical foundation
A counsellor with training in psychology, social work and human services. Real frameworks, real safety, no guesswork.
Intuitive insight
Where it helps, a deeper, intuitive reading of what sits underneath the surface. It asks nothing of you and you never have to believe in anything.
A steady, safe space
Unhurried, confidential, and free of judgement. Somewhere you can finally say the thing out loud and be genuinely heard.
What people in Southport bring
You do not need a diagnosis or a crisis to come. If something is weighing on you, that is reason enough.
Anxiety and stress
When the mind will not switch off and the body stays braced. We look at what keeps the alarm on, and how to turn the volume down.
Anxiety counsellingDepression and low mood
When everything feels heavy and the things you used to enjoy have gone flat. Gentle, steady work to find your footing again.
Depression counsellingGrief and loss
Loss on no one else’s timeline. A held space to grieve at your own pace, for as long as it takes.
Grief counsellingSeparation and divorce
Whether you are the one who left, the one who was left, or you are both still deciding. Support for the grief, the logistics and the version of yourself that comes next.
Separation and divorce counsellingRelationships and couples
The same argument on repeat, or a slow drift apart. Work to understand the pattern and find each other again.
Couples counsellingTrauma
When the past still lives in the body. Careful, paced work that never pushes you faster than you are ready for.
Trauma counsellingLife transitions and meaning
A move, a change, or a quiet sense that something is off. Space to work out what matters and where to next.
Individual counsellingSpiritual and intuitive
An awakening, a sense that there is more going on, or questions ordinary counselling has no room for. Grounded intuitive work that keeps both feet on the ground.
Spiritual counsellingSouthport, without the drive into town
If you are close by, a face-to-face session can be arranged when a suitable venue is available. Choose online or phone instead, and the parking and the traffic through the CBD disappear.
“I truly felt heard for the first time in all my life and deeply understood.”Simone
With online or phone sessions, you can join from home near the Broadwater, a quiet office in the CBD, or a parked car between meetings. For shift workers, parents, students and professionals around Southport, that flexibility is often the difference between meaning to get support and actually doing it. It also keeps things genuinely private: no clinic to be seen walking into in a city where you might know half the street.
“This morning I feel so much lighter and clear.”D.H.

About Christina
The counsellor behind Soul Counselling.
I founded Soul Counselling in 2012. I am a counsellor with a Bachelor in Psychology and Social Work, with further training in trauma, family and domestic violence, CBT and ACT.
Alongside the counselling I have a strong intuitive sense, which helps me understand what sits underneath what people bring, not just the surface of it. Sessions run 60 to 90 minutes, so there is time to get there.
Start here
Start with a free 15-minute assessment.
The honest first step costs nothing. A no-pressure conversation so you can get a feel for how I work and decide whether it is right for you. Nothing to lose, and if I am not the right fit, I will say so and point you towards who is.
Book the free 15-minute assessmentA closer look at what brings people in
Three of the most common reasons people start, and what the work actually involves.
When low mood has quietly become the normal setting
Depression rarely announces itself. More often it arrives as a slow flattening, where the beach you live ten minutes from stops being somewhere you go, replies to friends sit unanswered for days, and getting through the working week uses everything you have. People often arrive apologising, convinced their situation is not bad enough to warrant help.
The work starts by taking the pressure off. We look at what is draining you, what has quietly dropped out of your life, and what one manageable change might look like. If it appears that what you are carrying would be better served medically, Christina will say so plainly and point you towards your GP, because getting the right support matters more than where it comes from.

When the body will not come down from high alert
Anxiety is often most exhausting for the people who look like they are coping. Work gets done, the household runs, and nobody around you notices the constant scanning, the 3am replays, or the chest that never quite loosens. Because nothing is visibly falling apart, it can go on for years before anyone asks for help.
Sessions look at what keeps the alarm switched on, how avoidance quietly grows the fear it was meant to manage, and what genuinely settles your nervous system rather than what should in theory. If you choose online sessions, that often helps here, because you are already somewhere your body reads as safe.

When a relationship is ending, or you are not sure yet
Separation is rarely a single decision. It is usually months of circling the same question, often while still sharing a house, a mortgage and a school run. People come here partly to think out loud somewhere neutral, without a friend or family member steering them towards the answer they have already picked.
This work does not push you towards leaving or staying. It makes room for the grief that comes with either, including the grief for the future you had assumed. If children are involved, we look at how to hold that steadily. If it is already decided, the work turns towards rebuilding, which is slower and less linear than most people expect, and where a lot of the real healing happens.

A few questions people ask
Do you have an office in Southport?
There is no fixed office or walk-in clinic. In-person sessions are arranged by appointment, around Southport or further afield on the Gold Coast up to Tamborine Mountain, depending on venue and availability. Online and phone sessions are an equal option, from home, work or anywhere private, and they spare you the drive and the CBD parking.
Are you a psychologist?
No. I am a counsellor with a background in psychology, social work and human services. I do not diagnose or prescribe. If you specifically need a diagnosis or a Medicare rebate, a registered psychologist is the right path, and I will happily point you there. For most people wanting a steady space to work things through, counselling is the more natural starting point.
What can I get help with?
Anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship and couples issues, trauma, and the broader life transitions and meaning questions in between. You do not need a diagnosis or a crisis to come. If something is weighing on you, that is reason enough.
What does it cost to find out if it is right for me?
Nothing. The first step is a free 15-minute assessment, with no card and no obligation. It is a genuine conversation, not a sales call, so you can decide in your own time. There is honestly nothing to lose by having it.
How soon can I start?
Usually within days. Because counselling needs no referral and there is no clinic waitlist, a free 15-minute assessment is generally available quickly, and sessions can often begin soon after.
Is this an emergency or after-hours service?
No. Soul Counselling is not a crisis or after-hours service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000.
