Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in Australia, touching roughly 1 in 6 adults, about 17.2 per cent of us. Closer to home, the ABS National Study of Mental Health and Wellbeing for 2020 to 2022 found that around 21.6 per cent of South Australians aged 16 to 85, close to 304,500 people, lived with a mental disorder in a single year, so if your nervous system feels stretched, you are in very ordinary company.

Five-star Google reviews
One conversation in, most clients say they’ve finally been understood.
“I truly felt heard for the first time in all my life and deeply understood.”
“When I came to Christina I was drowning in darkness… now I’m finally thriving again.”
“Due to her mediumship I was able to see core issues that I wasn’t able to recognise before.”
None of this makes you weak. It is a protective system working overtime, and it can learn to soften.
How Christina works
There is no lecture and no pressure to perform calm. We move at your pace and build understanding and steadiness together, one honest conversation at a time.
We gently map what sets the worry off, how it moves through your body and the beliefs feeding it, so anxiety stops feeling random and starts to make sense.
You learn practical, doable ways to steady your breath and body in the moment, tools you can use on the tram, before a meeting or lying awake at 2am.
Once things feel safer, we can look at the older experiences underneath, so relief holds rather than returning the moment life gets busy again.

What we can work through
Everyone arrives with their own version of worry. These are some of the threads that come up most often in our online sessions across South Australia.
A tighter local job market, competition for roles and the slow creep of cost of living leave many people bracing for the next bill or waiting on the next contract, with worry that will not switch off.
Racing heart, dizziness and the fear that something is seriously wrong can send you spiralling. We work with panic gently, so the sensations feel less frightening and less in charge.
In a city where circles overlap and everyone seems to know everyone, being seen can feel exposing. We ease the pressure of judgement so you can breathe in rooms again.
When friends drift east for study or work, the quiet that follows can tip into anxious low mood. We make room for that ache and help you feel steadier and less alone.

About Christina
Soul Counselling was founded in 2016 by Christina Feyes, a counsellor with training across psychology, social work and human services and more than a decade of hands on practice. She supports people right across Australia by video and phone, and her only physical base sits in Southport on the Gold Coast, so working with her from Adelaide simply means logging in from home.
Christina blends grounded, evidence informed counselling with a warm, intuitive way of listening. That means you get real tools for the here and now, plus space to explore the quieter layers beneath the anxiety, always at a pace that feels safe rather than rushed.
Common questions
If your question is not here, the free 15-minute assessment is the easiest way to ask it.
Money worry is often part of anxiety itself, so we keep the first step free. You can begin with a no cost 15 minute assessment by phone or video, with no card details and no obligation to continue. It is a relaxed chance to ask questions, get a feel for how we work together and decide in your own time. There really is nothing to lose by starting with a conversation.
No. You do not need a GP referral, a mental health plan or any formal label to reach out. Many people contact us simply because worry has become exhausting and they want a steadier way forward. Soul Counselling is a counselling service, so we do not diagnose or prescribe, but we can walk alongside you, help you understand your anxiety and build practical ways to ease it.
There is no Adelaide clinic. Our only physical base is in Southport on the Gold Coast, and all Adelaide support is delivered online by video and by phone. That means you can work with us from the CBD, North Adelaide, Port Adelaide, the southern suburbs or the Hills without travelling anywhere. For many anxious people, starting from their own familiar space actually makes the whole thing feel far easier.
Yes. For anxiety and panic in particular, being in your own environment can help you settle and speak more openly. Video and phone sessions give us everything we need to understand your patterns, practise calming tools and work through the deeper roots together. Many people find they relax more quickly at home than they would in an unfamiliar room, and the tools you learn travel with you into everyday life.
Very private. Because sessions are online, there is no local waiting room and no chance of running into a familiar face on the way in. You choose a quiet, comfortable spot, and what you share stays confidential within the usual professional and legal limits. In a close community, that discretion can be a real relief and often makes it easier to finally speak honestly.
The simplest place to start is a free 15 minute assessment. You do not need to prepare anything or explain it perfectly. We will listen to what is weighing on you, answer your questions and suggest a gentle next step that suits you. If it feels right, we continue. If not, there is no pressure at all. Reaching out is often the hardest part, and it tends to feel lighter once it is done.
There is no set number, because everyone is different. Some people feel steadier after a handful of sessions focused on practical tools, while others prefer to keep going to explore the deeper story underneath. We review how things are tracking together and let your needs guide the pace, so you are never locked into more than feels genuinely useful to you.
Soul Counselling is not a crisis or emergency service and cannot offer immediate support. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please reach out now. You can call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636, both available 24 hours a day, and in an emergency phone 000 straight away. Once you are safe, we would be glad to support you with the ongoing work.
You do not have to arrive with the right words or a tidy explanation. Start with a free 15 minute assessment by phone or video to see how it feels, with no card required and no obligation. There is genuinely nothing to lose, and the first small step is often the hardest part of healing.

Adelaide is often praised as calmer and more affordable than the eastern capitals, yet plenty of people here still lie awake with a busy mind. A leaner job market and the steady pull of young people and graduates towards Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane can leave those who stay feeling stuck or left behind. Add a close knit city where word travels fast, and worry about being seen or judged can quietly build.
Sessions are held online and by phone across Adelaide and all of Australia. You can also explore all Adelaide counselling services.
