More than two in five Australians, around 43.7 percent, live with a mental disorder at some stage of life, and many of these same people are also quietly searching for meaning, healing and direction. In Queensland, ABS figures for 2020 to 2022 show close to 23.7 percent experienced a mental disorder in a single year, a reminder that struggle and a longing for something deeper often sit side by side.

When to reach out

  • Something inside you is changing and you cannot quite explain it in words.
  • Old patterns, roles and identities that once fit you no longer feel true.
  • You feel anxious, low or lost, yet you sense a spiritual layer sitting underneath it.
  • You want grounded, practical support without your intuition being dismissed as imagination.
  • You need someone who can hold both the psychology and the soul of what you are living.

In the long wet season heat, when the world slows and turns inward, these feelings can rise to the surface here in the Far North.

How Christina works

How this work holds you

Intuitive counselling here begins with real, grounded counselling and gently makes room for the spiritual layer of your experience. Nothing is performed, predicted or pushed. Christina works in three woven strands so you feel both understood and supported.

Clinical grounding

Every session rests on solid counselling skill. Christina draws on training in psychology, social work and human services to help you feel safe, name what is happening, and work with anxiety, grief, low mood or a life in transition. This foundation keeps the work honest and steady, never floaty or vague.

Intuitive insight

Alongside her clinical training, Christina brings natural intuitive and psychic ability and more than twenty years of lived spiritual experience. She listens beneath your words to what your inner life is signalling. Insight is offered gently, as something to consider together, never handed down as a fixed reading or a prediction of your future.

Spiritual integration

When an awakening, a sensitivity or a sense of the sacred is part of your story, it belongs in the room. Christina helps you make meaning of it and weave it back into ordinary life, so your spiritual experience feels integrated and steadying rather than overwhelming or something to hide.

Reading before you reach out

If you are not ready to talk yet, the Soul Counselling journal explores awakening, sensitivity, empathy, grief and the quiet turning points that bring people to this work. It is a gentle way to feel the tone of how Christina holds these subjects before you make contact.

What this work can support

What people bring to these sessions

People come to intuitive counselling in Cairns at very different points on their path. These are some of the most common themes, though your own reasons are welcome even if they are not listed here.

Spiritual awakening

A sudden or slow opening that has left you questioning who you are and how you see the world. Together you can steady the ground under it, so awakening becomes something you can live with rather than something that unsettles your whole life.

Sensitivity and being an empath

If you feel everything deeply and absorb the moods of others, this can be exhausting and confusing. Sessions help you understand your sensitivity as a real trait, protect your energy, and stop carrying what was never yours to hold.

Grief and loss

Loss can crack open questions about the soul, continuity and meaning. Christina holds grief with warmth and care, making space for both the emotional weight and the deeper spiritual questions that often arrive with it.

Identity and life shifts

A move, a relationship ending, a change of work, or a season far from home can shake your sense of self. This work helps you find your footing again and reconnect with who you are becoming, not just who you were.

Ways to explore this work

Different doors into the same grounded, intuitive practice.

Start wherever feels right. Each one is held with the same care, and you can move between them over time.

About Christina

Someone who can hold both psychology and soul.

Christina Feyes founded Soul Counselling in 2016. She is a counsellor with training in psychology, social work and human services, and she carries more than twenty years of intuitive and spiritual experience alongside natural intuitive and psychic gifts. She works with people right across Australia, holding both science and spirit in the same steady hands.

Her practice blends clinical understanding with natural intuitive insight, so sessions stay practical while still honouring the deeper spiritual layer of your life. Christina is a counsellor, not a psychologist, and she does not diagnose, prescribe, treat or cure. What she offers is grounded companionship for the whole of who you are.

Common questions

Before you book.

If your question is not here, the free 15-minute assessment is the easiest way to ask it.

Is intuitive counselling expensive?

You do not need to commit to anything or share card details to begin. The first step is a free 15-minute assessment, with no obligation and nothing to lose. It is simply a chance to talk, feel whether Christina is the right person for you, and decide together what might help. Any further work is discussed openly and only ever moves at a pace that feels right for you.

Is this real counselling or just a psychic reading?

This is grounded counselling first. Christina is a counsellor with training in psychology, social work and human services, and every session rests on that clinical foundation. Her intuitive and spiritual insight is woven in gently and ethically to support the work, never offered as a performance or a prediction. You receive genuine, professional counselling with an added spiritual dimension, not a reading dressed up as therapy.

Do I need to believe in anything spiritual to come?

No. You are welcome exactly as you are, whether you hold strong spiritual beliefs, none at all, or sit somewhere unsure in between. Many people arrive simply sensing that something deeper is stirring under their anxiety or grief. Christina meets you where you are and never asks you to adopt any belief. The spiritual layer is only ever explored if and when it feels relevant to you.

How is this different from ordinary counselling?

You still receive warm, professional counselling for what you are living through. The difference is that your intuition, sensitivity and spiritual experiences are welcomed as real and meaningful rather than set aside. Christina brings natural intuitive insight alongside her clinical training, so the whole of you, mind, heart and soul, has a place in the room.

Is there a Cairns clinic, or are sessions online?

There is no Cairns clinic. Christina’s only physical base is in Southport on the Gold Coast, and all work with Cairns and Far North Queensland clients is offered online by video and by phone. This means you can be supported from home, without travelling long distances, and sessions fit quietly around your work and family life.

Can online sessions reach a remote Far North town?

Yes. As long as you have a phone line or an internet connection, Christina can work with you wherever you are, from the northern beaches and the tablelands to smaller and more isolated communities. Online and phone sessions were made for exactly this kind of distance, where trained intuitive counselling would otherwise be very hard to find.

Can we focus on mediumship or connecting with someone who has passed?

Grief and questions about a loved one who has passed are welcome in these counselling sessions. Dedicated psychic and mediumship work, and channelling, are offered separately through Christina’s other services rather than as part of this grounded counselling page. If that is your main hope, mention it during your free assessment and Christina can guide you to the right space for it.

What if I am in crisis or really not safe right now?

This service is not a crisis or emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, please call 000. For support at any hour you can reach Lifeline on 13 11 14, and for culturally safe support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people you can call 13YARN on 13 92 76. Please use these services first if you are unsafe, and reach out to Christina for ongoing counselling once you are steady.

How do I get started?

The simplest way is to book a free 15-minute assessment or call 0479 144 561. There is no pressure and nothing to lose. You can share a little about what is happening, ask anything you like, and get a feel for whether this way of working suits you before deciding on anything further.

A gentle first step

If any of this speaks to you, you are warmly invited to book a free 15-minute assessment. There is no card, no obligation and nothing to lose. It is simply a chance to hear each other, feel whether this is a fit, and decide together what might come next.

Intuitive support across Cairns

Spiritual and intuitive counselling for Far North Queensland

Cairns sits where rainforest meets reef, an intense and living landscape that draws many people toward nature-based spirituality and healing. The hinterland carries a genuine alternative community, with retreats, yoga and healing spaces up through Kuranda and across the Atherton Tablelands. At the same time the region holds a large transient population, backpackers, hospitality and tourism workers far from home and quietly searching for meaning. The long wet season, with its heat and humidity, has a way of turning people inward, while real support can feel thin and scattered over big distances. This is also a place of deep and living Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander spiritual traditions and connection to Country, honoured here with respect and offered alongside, never over, that heritage.

  • For sensitives and empaths navigating an intense tropical landscape and a fast-moving tourist town.
  • For people far from home in the Far North who are searching for meaning and direction.
  • For those drawn to the region’s retreat and healing culture who want grounded, ongoing support.
  • For anyone in a remote or hard to reach FNQ community where local services are scarce.

Sessions are held online and by phone across Cairns and all of Australia, so this work fits quietly around your life. You can also explore all Cairns counselling services.

Grounded, not guesswork

Reaching the whole Far North with trained intuitive care

Trained intuitive counselling is rare in regional Australia, and even rarer this far north. Culturally safe and Indigenous led support does exist alongside this work, including 13YARN on 13 92 76, and Christina’s practice is offered respectfully next to it rather than in place of it. Working online means the CBD and Esplanade, Palm Cove, Trinity Beach, Edmonton, Smithfield, Kuranda and the tablelands villages are all within easy reach.

Christina holds both worlds at once, more than twenty years of spiritual work together with formal counselling training. That means you are neither dismissed by clinical services that have no room for the spiritual, nor left destabilised by ungrounded spiritual spaces that lack real clinical care. Here, both parts of you are safe.
